Artist Biography
New York City-based acclaimed singer-songwriter, pianist and author Lachi holds a mission of spreading positivity and empowerment to a new generation of marginalized youth. Feeling marginalized and isolated growing up due to her legal blindness, Lachi found freedom in music and words. Overcoming her disability she focused on her musical gift of voice.

She recorded her debut album Lachi in 2010 and gained national media attention with interviews on Oprah Radio, CBS Radio, CW 11, NME and The Onion. Apart from prolific writings of published shorts, poems and a novel, Lachi has written hundreds of songs several of which have been placed on Major TV, independent and documentary films and radio. Lachi's band has opened for Patti LaBelle, Questlove (The Roots), and Fred Armisen (SNL) among others and have performed at SxSW, CMJ, and many notable venues including NYC's Webster Hall and Joe's Pub.

Having released the title track single in late September 2012, Lachi is at the finishing stages of her second album Make Some Noise also with the intention of spreading a positive message of raising self-esteem and confidence in young people.

Press Release

New York City based Singer/Songwriter, Lachi presents three new interpretations of the original Pop Rock Dance track “Make Some Noise” in her upcoming remix EP featuring the remixes of D.J. Mental Blue, an established Croatian EDM producer, Zinnat, a Bulgerian Dubstep producer, and Lachi herself, as she pours forth a haunting and rich acoustic rendition of the tune. The new versions translate the versatility of the original track through the creative stylings of each artist. The remix EP is scheduled for July 16, 2013.

Deemed “Full of urgency and sexy fun” by Matt Satterfield of Leading Us Absurd, “Make Some Noise,” originally released late 2012, filled the airwaves with refreshing energy. Part Garage Rock, part Retro Dance, part Contemporary Pop, the song takes on a mind of its own as Lachi melodically posits that though we close our ears and eyes to the truth, she’s here to tell us what time it is and blow our minds!

Lachi plans to award free downloads to fans for joining her mailing list, among other incentives, in an effort to build buzz for her upcoming releases—a second EP “Last Redemption” and a full length album to be released fall 2013.

Lachi is no stranger to the stage. Her songs have a raw and unapologetic emotional openness. It’s this disarming sincerity that’s garnered her a great deal of attention and respect as an artist. Lachi is incredibly prolific, as many of her songs have been featured on national TV, Radio and Film. Perhaps it is her legal blindness that allows her to bring so much beauty to the emotion inside her.
