Artist Biography

Luke is a young artist / songwriter from the UK who’s starting to make a buzz with his songs.
He cites “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls as the song that, the moment he heard it playing, made him realize he wanted to be a songwriter.

Shortly after, at the age of 17, Luke picked up an acoustic guitar for the first time and started writing songs not only about love but also about growing up…

Other artists that have influenced Luke include the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Parachute, Fountains of Wayne, Goo Goo Dolls and the music of his father who played in bands way back when…!
In a short time he’s become a natural songwriter and emerging artist in the making. Music Week selected Luke as one of their ten ‘favorite’ new talents and commented saying “Luke’s songs are beautiful.” Promo Only agrees saying it’s “exciting hearing such a fresh new and exciting talent like Luke… it’s perfect for US radio”.

Luke’s debut radio single, “We’re Alive” impacted several stations on the East Coast in the summer of 2012, having top 30 airplay in Boston and San Francisco with video rotation at Hard Rock Cafes (“Great video”) around the world.

In his relatively short career Luke has got to work with some of the finest producers in the industry including Steve Power (Robbie Williams, McFly, Andrea Bocelli…), Eric Rosse (Sara Bareilles, Tori Amos…), Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac, Colbie Caillat) who commented “Luke Potter is a great singer-songwriter” and Bleu who writes “Luke Potter writes ear-sticking songs that just won’t leave your brain!”

January 2013 saw the release of Luke’s EP, ‘One Day’ which met with a great critical reaction.

Ken Morton of LA based ‘Highwire Daze’ wrote, “The combination of Potter and Bleu has presented a stunning work of pure pop perfection that is not to be missed. Judging by the three wondrous tracks heard on the One Day EP, expect the future to be very bright for this massively talented singer / songwriter. It will be exciting to hear what exquisite tunes Luke Potter has in store for the world at large in the months ahead.”

In September 2013 he signed a management contract with WEG (Wright Entertainment Group) and Orrigami who look after Justin Timberlake, Akon, NSYNC, David Archuleta and a host of other great artists.

Since then he’s been even busier with writing trips to Sweden, Canada and USA during 2014 where he’s worked with some amazing collaborators.
He also did a short UK school tour and a small tour (10 shows) in the USA in July / August 2014 to a great reaction.

With a great catalogue of songs ready to go Luke has just released his 1st album, 'So Sugar' and, aside from uploading new videos for songs from the album, there'll be lots of new music in 2015!

Several Early Reviews:
Luke Potter’s “first proper album” contains 10 tracks all produced by legendary power popper Bleu in LA. … the guitars and the power are ratcheted up quite a few notches resulting in a hard to ignore, powerful sonic assault. Toss in some tasty string arrangements throughout, and you’ve got a superb effort! The result is a radio-ready album choc full of potential singles! Even a seasoned pop veteran like Bleu has come away impressed declaring “Luke writes ear-sticking songs that just won’t leave your brain.” True that! “Don’t let the cute, boy-ish looks fool you. This guy’s the complete package – and deserves to be heard not only by the Power Pop crowd, but also by the masses! Are you listening Disney?”

Kool Kat Musik Review for ‘So Sugar’ – November 2014
Luke Potter’s debut album, So Sugar, is pure pop pleasure, combining youthful enthusiasm tempered with extremely well produced songs that appeal to all ages.
Potter writes his own songs, plays guitar, and, most importantly, is passionate about what he does. It shows.

His songs are catchy, as if The Beach Boys, Green Day, Oasis and Blink 182 morphed together to make an appealing new artist for 2014. Influenced by Jimmy Eat World, Goo Goo Dolls and Jason Mraz, Luke Potter’s music combines great grooves, guitars and an appealing British accent on So Sugar.

Mark Weber Music Blog review for ‘So Sugar’- November 2014
At long last, Luke Potter’s first official full-length album has been released onto the world at large, and it was surely worth the wait. Pure power pop rock complete with wondrously infectious choruses, the ten cuts featured on So Sugar would sweeten up the day of even the most sour of music critic. Based out of the UK, it won’t be long before the world discovers Luke Potter…
With an album so exhilarating filled to the brim with radio friendly compositions, expect to see Luke Potter signed to a major label any day now!
