Bleed is an utterly expansive track that touches upon new age, rock, and pop genres. No matter what styles of music that you personally like, the approach taken by Putt will turn you into a fan. There is a maturity to each of the compositions that we have heard that far outstrip great deal of what is currently out on the market. This means that each side of the song – the atmospheric arrangements, piano, guitar, or vocals – is given ample time to shine. Tribal Spirits provides a more focused rock sound that is reminiscent of the work of Vinnie Vincent-era KISS, Queensryche or the Scorpions. The tempered sound that the track turns to showcases more of Putt’s versatility as an artist. What listeners will hear on Tribal Spirits is a musician that can turn on a dime. In fact, the guitar work heard here does more for the track’s narrative than even the most literary-heavy vocals could. Yesteryears is a track that looks a little further back in the pantheon of rock, taking the standard of acts like Dire Straits (Sultans of Swing) and Krokus. Something Real (2012 version) is a diamond in the rough; the intensity and the fury that is created through the track’s run time is enough to keep listeners focused in for any subsequent tracks that may follow. While the production of each of these tracks is clear and allows Putt’s guitars and vocals to shine, I feel that hearing him live would be absolutely amazing. Make sure to keep an eye out for any additional tracks or live dates to be schedules. The Soundclick site (linked above) is a great place to start to hear Putt’s music.
