Artist Biography

Formed in 2005, Mindset Evolution are a hard rock band from Peoria, Illinois. Made up of singer Rob Ulrich, guitarists Skyler Baer and Bradley Prentice, bassist Josh Bodeen, and drummer Joey Gibbs, the band follows in the footsteps of acts like Chevele, Stone Sour and Three Days Grace with a driving sound that balances emotion with aggression. Mindset Evolution got their first break in 2011 when they were crowned the victors of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival Battle of the Bands over 5300 other bands. After heading out on the 2012 Uproar tour, the band was singned to Indie Label Prospect Park, who then sent them into the studio with producer Johnny K to work on their full-length debut, Brave, Bold, and Broken, which was released in the summer of 2013. It spawned a top 30 single in the powerhouse track "Burn it Down" which stayed in the Sirius XM Octane Big Uns' Countdown for 4 weeks, and climbed to #24 on LA Lloyd Rock Countdown. They have already begun work on their follow-up record.

When Mindset Evolution wrote our album Brave Bold and Broken we set out to create a body of work that would inspire others to dream. We sought to give people a musical safe place where they could hear our struggles. Where they could see our positivity in the face of incredible odds while working 10 years to become a national group and feel like, "hey, life is hard all around and I'm not alone in my difficulties. I can be the master of my destiny". Our song "The Change" is the very embodiment of all that we stand for. We want to share this song with the whole world! So, we made it a video single! We hope you'll join us in spreading this message of becoming self reliant, and having strength in times of difficulty, by playing the song, and sharing the music video.

Touring relentlessly through 2012 and '13, they won over audiences everywhere with their blend of high enegry rock and purpose driven lyrics. Thier first single "Burn it Down" impacted radio in May 2013 and quickly became a mainstay in Sirius XM Octane's Big Uns' countdown and peaked at number 23 on LA Lloyd's Rock Countdown, before settling in at #30 on the U.S. Active Rock charts.
